During the aftermath of the flood (November 4th) I Tatti becomes a headquarter of CRIA: the Committee to Rescue Italian Art, and a focal point for rescue operations: most of the flooded negatives from the Gabinetto Fotografico of the Soprintendenza of Florence are cleaned up at I Tatti where water is still available. The Berenson’s old garage is converted into a much more capacious and comfortable space for housing the Fototeca, and in the enlarged area a number of studies are created for Fellows.
